17.Jan.2010 surrender
We have not come here to take prisoners,
But to surrender ever more deeply
To freedom and joy.
We have not come into this exquisite world
To hold ourselves hostage from love.
Run my dear.
From anything
That may not strengthen
Your precious budding wings.
Run like hell my dear
From anyone likely
To put a sharp knife
Into the sacred, tender vision
Of your beautiful heart.
We have a duty to befriend
Those aspects of obedience
That stand outside of our house
And shout to our reason
“O please, O please,
Come out and play.”
For we have not come here to take prisoners
Or to confine our wondrous spirits,
But to expereince ever and ever more deeply
Our divine courage, freedom, and
Light!-rumi
30.May.2009 Another festive compromise

Whisper your name in an empty room
You brush past my skin
As soft as fur
Taking hold
I taste your scent
Distant noises
Other voices
Pounding in my broken head
Commit the sin
Commit yourself
And all the other voices said
Change your mind
You’re always wrong
Always wrongCome around at christmas
I really have to see you
Smile at me slyly
Another festive compromise
But I live with desertion
And eight million people
Distant noises
Of other voices
Pulsing in my swinging arms
Caress the sound
So many dead
And all the other voices sing
Change your mind
You’re always wrong

24.Oct.2008 Luckily the universe can accommodate our mistakes.
Strip away everything of yourself that is conditional — your name, your relationships, your language, your acquired knowledge, your body parts — and what is left? Nothing is left except a point of awareness. Since it is independent of all that is conditionally you, your awareness is identical to my awareness and to everyone else’s. I don’t mean identical as in “separate but the same.” I mean identical as in “one and the same.” I am you and you are I. We are the same being taking different points of view.

20.Oct.2008 To die hating them, that was freedom.
“Do you begin to see, then, what kind of world we are creating? It is the exact opposite of the stupid hedonistic Utopias that the old reformers imagined. A world of fear and treachery and torment, a world of trampling and being trampled upon, a world which will grow not less but more merciless as it refines itself. Progress in our world will be progress toward more pain.”
- 1984
04.Oct.2008 Everything must run it’s course.
(previously embedded video removed. peep link for tune)
I’m feeling rough, I’m feeling raw, I’m in the prime of my life.
Let’s make some music, make some money, find some models for wives.
I’ll move to Paris, shoot some heroin, and fuck with the stars.
You man the island and the cocaine and the elegant cars.
This is our decision, to live fast and die young.
We’ve got the vision, now let’s have some fun.
Yeah, it’s overwhelming, but what else can we do.
Get jobs in offices, and wake up for the morning commute.
Forget about our mothers and our friends
We’re fated to pretend
To pretend
We’re fated to pretend
To pretend
I’ll miss the playgrounds and the animals and digging up worms
I’ll miss the comfort of my mother and the weight of the world
I’ll miss my sister, miss my father, miss my dog and my home
Yeah, I’ll miss the boredom and the freedom and the time spent alone.
There’s really nothing, nothing we can do
Love must be forgotten, life can always start up anew.
The models will have children, we’ll get a divorce
We’ll find some more models, everything must run it’s course.
We’ll choke on our vomit and that will be the end
We were fated to pretend
To pretend
We’re fated to pretend
To pretend
22.Sep.2008 Snooze button enthusiasm.
This is just a nightmare
Soon I’m going to wake up
Someone’s gonna bring me ’roundRunning from the bombers
Hiding in the forest
Running through the fieldsLaying flat on the ground
Just like everybody
Stepping over headsRunning from the underground
This is your warning
4 minute warningI don’t wanna hear it
I don’t wanna know
I just wanna run and hideThis is just a nightmare
But soon I’m gonna wake up
Someone’s gonna bring me ’roundThis is a warning
4 minute warning

18.Sep.2008 The beige cage.
Myths and Legends die hard. We love them for the extra dimension they provide. The illusion of near-infinite possibility to erase the narrow confines of most men’s reality. Weird heroes and mold-breaking champions exist as living proof to those who need it that the tyranny of “the rat race” is not yet final – Hunter S.Thompson
03.Sep.2008 everything all of the time
i spent the last week in southern California with my best friend Michelle. we had tickets to two consecutive radiohead concerts that also happened to be their last us tour dates for the in_rainbows tour. we visited various beaches and samples many of the local freeways. ate lots of delicious food. the following pictures will provide a sampling of the journey. highlights and what i managed to extract from the experience are to follow.
25.Aug.2008 the syntax of fear
my creations, at their best, are assigned a meaning after the fact. that is, my most expressive work comes about accidentally and without intent; it conveys depth and significance in a subtle and effortless way.
to say that i cannot write concisely, that i do not communicate effectively, may be true. i’m too eagar to use every crayon in the box. my writing could use some sophistication. inching towards eloquence. there is just so much of life that i love
see me in the errors. see the urgency with which words come of me. if i could speak in haiku’s, i would. my thoughts anyway, a constant stream of poetry which i am the sole privileged audience to.
so i remind myself: the truth, in any case, needs no defense.
18.Aug.2008 moving through the silence without motion
To the centre of the city where all roads meet, waiting for you,
To the depths of the ocean where all hopes sank, searching for you,
I was moving through the silence without motion, waiting for you,
In a room without window in the corner I found truth. In the shadowplay, acting out your own death, knowing no more,
As the assassins all grouped in four lines, dancing on the floor,
And with cold streel, odour on their bodies mad a move to connect,
But I could only stare in disbelief as the crowds all left.I did everything, everything I wanted to,
I let them use you for their own ends,
To the centre of the city in the night, waiting for you.//lyrics to “shadowplay” by joy division
18.Jun.2008 this modern love
To be lost in the forest
To be cut adrift
You’ve been trying to reach me
You bought me a book
To be lost in the forest
To be cut adrift
I’ve been paid
I’ve been paidDon’t get offended
If I seem absent minded
Just keep telling me facts
And keep making me smile
Don’t get offended
If I seem absent minded
I get tongue-tied
Baby, you’ve got to be more discerning
I’ve never known what’s good for me
Baby, you’ve got to be more demanding
I will be yoursI’ll pay for you anytime
You told me you wanted to eat up my sadness
Well jump on, enjoy, you can gorge away
You told me you wanted to eat up my sadness
Jump right
Baby, you’ve got to be more discerning
I’ve never known what’s good for me
Baby, you’ve got to be more demanding
Jump leftWhat are you holding out for?
What’s always in the way?
Why so damn absent-minded?
Why so scared of romance? This modern love breaks me
This modern love wastes meDo you wanna come over and kill some time?
Tell me facts, tell me facts, tell me facts
Tell me facts
Throw your arms around me///lyrics to “this modern love” by bloc party
14.Jun.2008 What do the waves have to say now?
It’s the place that’s said to break
It’s just as safe from the outside tonightAnd I want that
I face the storms at the tides
From the lighthouseAnd I want that
Unleash the storm and the nightOh…
What do the waves have to say now?
What do the waves have to say now?Slow now
And let the waves have their way now
Slow, and let the waves have their dayAnd I want that
Here I’ve been living on roofs made from sin
Upward and outward, “Begin, begin.”Here I’ve been lucid I’m living within
Inwardly urgent, I’m sinking againThe Lighthouse

02.Jun.2008 echoes that spill from celestial spheres
music opens our hearts and surely ensnares
with echoes that spill from celestial spheres;
and faith far beyond the impaled cast of thought
turns ugly dissonance to honey by angels brought.adam’s children turned and so coarsely tied
hear with him the angel’s songs and smiling sigh.
we remember them, even faintly, as yearning
heartbeats of the sweet soul’s original learning.oh, music feeds the calling souls of lovers,
music raises the spirit from its earthly covers.
the ashes grow bolder and shed their fur
listen with stillness that only souls can share.(mathnavi IV, 733)
