02.Dec.2010 hot concrete

I was asked to participate in the second Phoenix Pecha Kucha Night by providing art direction. I’ve always found freeway over passes beautiful. Driving on them, driving under them. They still incite a bit of awe and wonder that I felt as a child from a small city with no freeways. Somewhere between archways and arteries to me they are an ever endearing aspect of Phoenix city living. The succulent flower provides a genuine organic contrast to the concrete structure. The colors, reminiscent of s toxic desert sunset.
